SPARKS, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- After a four-year hiatus from the top of the podium, a champion has returned in Sparks. Desperado's BBQ took first place at the 2014 Nugget Best in the West Rib Cook-Off on Monday.

"I’m just overwhelmed," said owner Donna Rice. "I have the greatest team in the world."

This is the second time the Hinckley, Ohio-restaurant has won Best Ribs at the contest. Rice took home the trophy in 2009, as well.

"The last time we won it was when my husband had a stroke," said Rice. "Now, to do it without him, it’s just awesome."

Porky-N-Beans is now the back to back 'Best Sauce' champion. The Florida-based company’s ribs are on the verge of cracking 600 national titles in all. "We have taken 18 rib cook-offs this summer and we have won 18 first places straight," said owner Dennis Carrino. "It’s been a phenomenal 2014."

This year's event is also helping show off the Nugget's new features, such as the sports book and Gilley’s. "They have actually been part of the appeal of the customers," said CEO Carlton Geer.

Geer said this event is the biggest one yet, and should bring $25 million in revenue to Sparks.
