NEVADA (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The Nevada Housing Division was awarded funds for foreclosure prevention counseling and every
single Nevada homeowner is eligible for the free program.

As Nevada ended 2013 with one of the highest foreclosure rates in the nation, the staff at the Nevada Housing Division worked to make
sure foreclosure prevention dollars were awarded to the silver state.

Nevada now has $229,171.50 to help homeowners in need and all you have to do is set up an appointment.

“Since the program started in 2008 we’ve had over 5,000 counseling sessions that’s probably helping at least 3,000 people in the process,” says Mike Dang with the Nevada Housing Division.

President Bush signed the Housing and Economic Recovery act in 2008, which set aside $180 million dollars to help homeowners at risk of losing their home. On Tuesday, April 1, 2014 the Nevada Housing Division was awarded $229,171.50 to continue foreclosure prevention counseling.

According to Mike Dang, every single homeowner in Nevada is eligible for the free counseling service all you have to do is set up an appointment by calling 775-337-6363 or visit: http://www.financialguidancecenter.org/.
