WASHINGTON (AP) -- A sharply divided House has approved a Republican plan to file an election-season federal lawsuit against President Barack Obama. The suit will contend that Obama has exceeded his constitutional powers in the way he has enforced the 2010 health care law. The vote was 225 to 201.

Democrats say the suit is a campaign-year stunt designed to draw conservative voters to the polls in congressional elections. They also say it may be a prelude to an effort to impeach Obama -- a contention top Republicans say is groundless.

Republicans say Obama has gone too far in selectively enforcing parts of the health overhaul, such as by delaying the requirement that many employers provide health insurance for their workers. They say they are protecting the Constitution's division of powers.

kdavis52 - so you're saying Obama INHERITED the Health Care Bill from Bush? Wow. fastd - Government should cut back but it still doesn't mean they can't persue justice when justice has been wrongly served. We need a leader and not someone who points fingers at others. The only other President who pointed fingers at their predecessor besides Obama was FDR towards Hoover and FDR ran his campaigns doing that way and got elected each time. What ever happened to honor the President and Office? Respect the title for each and everyone who has and is serving as they should. It's an unwritten code with the Oval Office. Obama should not support the Democrats nor the Republicans, he should support the people. Please stop placing blame on past Presidents and get this Country fixed without blaming why it's there. It's the only way we will be a United States again and not a party of Democrats or Republicans.

Obama INHERITED today's problems. He only tried making it right where people would get affordable care. How do you clean up a parent's mess after they passed on? Same difference, except the parent's mess is smaller but you have to deal with it. The GOP caused 75% of the nation's woes.

Great another bumper sticker for the GOP clown car.In Order to sue someone you have to have standing, which means that it has to directly affect you.Congress has a separate health plan which they will never give up.It's as if because you saw someone knock down your neighbors mailbox you tried to sue them for damages. This has been widely shown to legally be nothing but a stunt. You can't continually complain that government needs to cut back on spending and then throw taxpayers money away on this kind of ignorant stupidity. What's really galling is that most of these clowns are lawyers and they know this is a waste of the publics time and money.
