RENO, Nev. ( & KRNV) – The Reno Fire Department were called to the 1300 block of Tioga Way in Northwest Reno at around 10:15 Wednesday night to a garage fire. Firefighters say the blaze started in the garage and spread through the rest of the home. The home suffered significant damage. The America Red Cross was on scene with the family and will help them for next few days.

Firefighters say one 17-year-old boy was treated for burns on his leg at the scene and was later taken to Renown Regional Medical Center, he's expected to be ok.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.

The garage was the only thing significantly damaged on this house. The RFD was able to keep the fire in the garage. There is some minor heat damage to the outside of the home, but it is not majorly damaged. Thank goodness two RFD engines were able to respond quickly with full, four-man crews to suppress this fire.
