Gospel Mission to host Thanksgiving dinner, coat giveaway

RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The Gospel Mission is holding its annual Thanksgiving Day dinner and winter coat giveaway beginning at 11 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 22) at the Mission, 355 Record St., Reno.

The meal features a traditional turkey dinner with vegetables and pumpkin pie for dessert.

Anyone in need of a winter jacket will be allowed to select from about 1,300 coats collected for the giveaway, including hundreds of new jackets donated by Aeropostale as part of the national One Warm Coat campaign.

At noon, the Mission also will serve about 150 meals for senior citizens at the Carville Park Apartments; and 100 meals at Sierra Manor senior citizen center in Reno.
