RENO, Nev. (Mynews4.com & KRNV) -- More than 600 men, women and children are expected to attend the Reno-Sparks Gospel Mission’s Annual “Christmas in July” dinner.

The festive event will be held at 4 p.m., Friday, July 25 at the Mission, 355 Record St., Reno. Complete with a visit from Santa Claus, this event is a reminder that the homeless need food, sunscreen, hats, hygiene items and other necessities to deal with the extreme heat of the summer.

The Mission is seeking donations of hats and hygiene products such as sunscreen, lip balm, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and lotions.

Donations can be dropped off at the Mission’s administrative offices at 2115 Timber Way, Reno. Monetary donations can be made through its website at Rsgm.org.

For details or to volunteer, call 323-0386, Ext. 16.
