SPARKS, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) --A pastry plant is now calling Sparks home and celebrated it's grand opening Thursday, November 29th.

Referred to as "the Willy Wonka of frozen pastries" founder and CEO Patrick Novak opened French Gourmet, Inc.'s newest location in Sparks.

"I'm grateful to be here it was the right move, the right choice, northern Nevada is the place to be for business," Novak says.

The transition included transforming a 78-thousand square foot warehouse building into a modern pastry production center.

French Gourmet, Inc. hired 54 local employees to work at the plant.

Novak says business is good and they already plan to expand to 120 employees in the next year and a half.

Governor Brian Sandoval was at the grand opening and also believes northern Nevada is a great fit for French Gourmet, Inc.

"He saved on power, he saved on rent, got quality employees and a wonderful quality of life I'm sure other companies will see this. He could have chosen to be anywhere in the United States, he picked northern Nevada," Gov. Brian Sandoval says.

French Gourmet distributes their pastries internationally as well as locally.
