RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Reno's first year-round, indoor marketplace is set to open at the end of July, and its owners are previewing vendor studios this weekend.
The Great Western Marketplace will feature local entrepreneurs in the 167,000-square foot building that used to house a Super K-mart in northwest Reno. About 500 spaces are available for six-month leases for about $8 per square foot. The rental price includes utilities, Wi-Fi, security, and advertising.
Owner Trudy Naumann hopes the affordable rent will attract local merchhants and artisans to make it a destination weekend event for families. "It's going to be diversified. We're looking for people who have an existing business, or perhaps a brand new business. It's a great opportunity to get started."
The Great Western Marketplace will host an Open House from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
