Reno, NV (KRNV & Mynews4.com) -- The  Committee to Aid Abused Women honors special guests for their efforts to stop  domestic violence.

Victims, activists, and supporters  against domestic violence gathered together at the Atlantis Casino &  Resort today for the thirty-first annual Hannah Humanitarian Award  Luncheon.

The Committee to Aid Abused Women presented  awards to Shiela Leslie, and the E.L. Cord Foundation for their continuous  humanitarian efforts.

The event also featured keynote speaker,  Mildred Muhammad, former wife of the notorious "D.C. Sniper," gave her chilling  story as a victim of an abusive relationship, and how it led her ex-husband to a  random killing spree of innocent people.

As Northern Nevada's leading provider of  services to those experiencing family violence, CAAW continues to help and  protect those in need.

If you or someone you know needs  aid, please visit www.caaw.org for more information on the services and  programs they provide.
