(KRNV & MyNews4.com) - Traffic was backed up for hours on Highway 28 this evening after a head on collision between two cars.  According to the NHP around 7:20pm on Friday, a gray Subaru was traveling northbound on Highway 28 near the Washoe County line when it crossed the double yellow lines and struck a white Kia Soul traveling southbound.  There were no passengers in either car. The drivers were flown by Careflight to Renown, no word on their conditions.

Kramer You are correct it is NVada. I was driving North on Clear Acre yesterday afternoon when about 50-60, mostly males, on crotch rockets came speeding up the street weaving in and out of traffic, blocking traffic and running the red light going onto the freeway. A sheriff in a sheriffs car was on the opposite side of the street watching these punks and did nothing.

The woman driving the white Kia Soul was my mother...Thank God she is going to be okay! I want to say thank you to the people who helped rescue her from this horrific accident. She had mentioned a very nice man talking to her, telling her to stay calm and not move, that there was help on the way, I can not express my gratitude enough to this man. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving my mom comfort and strength during such a frightening experience. Also I would like to thank all the responding officers and emergency team that got my mom out of her wrecked vehicle and assisted in getting her safely to the hospital. Please know that you helped an amazing woman today! My mother is loved by all who meet her! She is a blessing to our world, and everyday she is here, she makes this world a better place! I do not know the condition of the other driver, but my family and I are praying for her, hoping that she was not badly injured and that she makes a full recovery. Sincerely, Brandy Lynne... God Bless
