CHURCHILL COUNTY, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- A high-speed chase through multiple counties ended at a camping site east of Fallon on Friday.

According to Mike Edsall from the Nevada Highway Patrol, the chase began near Carson City and traveled through Dayton, Fallon, and ended at the Sand Mountain Recreation Area. The suspect is confirmed to be dead, but shots were fired in multiple areas, including three at the guard shack at Sand Hill. The campsite was evacuated.

Edsall said the chase reached speed near 100 miles per hour on Highway 50. The vehicle matched the description of the vehicle which fled from a shooting scene in New Washoe City, but it is not confirmed to be the same vehicle.

Besides the suspect, there is no word on other injuries.

We were standing outside Red Zinnia (Best place in town!!) and saw the police screaming through town, there was at least 20 of them from different departments. It was crazy! I don't think anyone was hurt during the chase (aside from the suspect) which I am grateful for.
