RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Local veterans looking for work got a chance to find out what's out there during the Hiring Our Heroes job fair Tuesday at the Atlantis.
The event, sponsored by NBC News and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, is geared to help veterans of all wars, find work.
Over 45 companies were represented, offering local jobs ranging from sales to education and health care.
Veterans get a chance to talk with employers and share their resumes.
Veterans also got help with resumes and interview skills.
"A lot of their skills and education gets lost in translation on their resumes," said Hiring Our Heroes regional associate Kerion Dawkins. "So what we do is assist them by giving them proper verbage to use and also helping them with interviewing tips."
Since launching in March 2011, Hiring Our Heroes has hosted 434 hiring fairs in all 50 states, DC and Puerto Rico.
More than 18,400 veterans have been hired across the nation thanks to the job fair.
