Reno, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) --Over 500 local homeless men, women and children are receiving Halloween treats donated by local charity groups today.
The third annual "Street Treats" event was hosted at the Community Assistance Center on Record Street on Saturday, October 28th.
The event was organized by the Reno Sparks-Gospel Mission and supported by Volunteers of America, AT&T, National Charity League, Ralston-Purina and Young Life.
For the holiday-themed event, donated food, clothing, and hygiene items are given to the less fortunate by volunteers dressed up in Halloween costumes.
Organizers say that their event is an important reminder that there are homeless of all ages, including children, who deserve attention and holiday cheer.
