RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The entertainment performances for the 2014 Hot August Nights celebration have been announced and a new "Country Night" is among them.

Darryl Worely, a traditional country artist from Nashville, is the featured artist for the inaugural 'Country Night.' He boasts twenty hit singles, including three number one songs: "I Miss My Friend," "Have You Forgotten," and "Awful, Beautiful Life."

“We are very excited to wrestle into our wranglers and slip on our cowboy boots,” said Tony Marini, Executive Director of Hot August Nights. “It will be a night to remember and a little something different for Hot August Nights.”

Along with a Country Night, rock ‘n’ roll acts from the 50’s, 60's, and 70's will be featured ranging from: Chicago Tribute Authority, to Nathan Owen Motown Legends, and more.

Performances will kick off Tuesday, July 29 and go until Saturday, August 2. All performances are scheduled to begin at 8:15 p.m., but are subject to change.

The first-ever Country Night is slated for Friday, August 1.

Sounds good to me. Even Cowboys like hot rods-why not treat them to some of THEIR music and entertainment?

What's with the modern country?? Shouldn't it be Glen Campbell singing Wichita Lineman or the Statler Brothers. SOMETHING vintage like the cars. Gotta be some of those old timers still out performing,..or tribute bands.
