House fire burning in Washoe Valley

UPDATE: 6PM - According to Truckee Meadows Fire Chief Tim Leighton, four engines and three water tenders with the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District are at the scene of the fire in Washoe Valley.

The home is approimately 1600 sq. ft to 2000 sq. ft and the fire is mostly in the garage and attic, Leighton says.

All the occupants of the home have been evacuated and there were no pets. No one has been injured.

It’s too early to tell when the fire will be out, but they’re expecting to contain it in the next half hour.
