RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- International Game Technology's recent merger is starting to show positive effects for northern Nevada.

The Las Vegas-based company announced on Wednesday that it has begun cost-cutting consolidations that will move some operations from Las Vegas to Reno. Company officials did not confirm how many jobs will be added to IGT's manufacturing plant in south Reno.

IGT is being acquired for $6.4 billion by Italy-based GTECH, which runs the Italian lottery.
