RENO, Nev. (Mynews4.com & KRNV)- Local non-profit organizations could receive thousands in funding and services for the fifth annual Microsoft Licensing and IQ Technology Solutions IT Makeover Award.
"In the nonprofit world we work so hard to serve the community and serve clients we don't always have additional resources up to date and current," said Denise Yoxsimer, Executive Director of the Committee to Aid Abused Women a local reno non-profit. Yoxsimer says since they received the IT Makeover Campaign Award last year they have increased productivity, communications and security.
"It's 100-percent better," said Sylvia Gonzalez. Gonzalez has worked at CAAW for 12 years and remembers what it was like before the IT Makeover. "We'd log data and type in information on an old typewriter or by hand. Now we upload everything on paper to a computer," said Gonzalez.
Steve Ceroke, President of IQ Technology Solutions says they wanted to help non-profits who play a critical role in the community while facing declining contributions over the past few years. "The idea was to get money into where we knew technology can help an organization," said Ceroke.
Local organizations can apply to receive funding based on an application describing their needs, their missions and objectives as well as how the organizations would use the it makeover funding to better serve the community.
Application forms may be obtained online at ITMakeover@IQisIT.com For additional information, contact Steve Cerocke at 775-352-2301
