CARSON CITY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The identity of the motorcycle driver killed in the crash involving a jeep Oct. 30 is 33-year-old Vincent Wayne Gilpatrick, who lived in Carson City and is from the White Pine County area, according to Sheriff Kenny Furlong.
Gilpatrick is a former Nevada corrections officer, but was unemployed at the time of the crash, Furlong says.
Gilpatrick was leaving the area after being at a friend's house, when the incident happened. A 16-year-old juvenile was driving a Jeep Cherokee, heading home and made a left turn onto Camballera Drive, when the motorcycle and the vehicle ran into each other head on.
Gilpatrick was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both the Jeep and the motorcycle were totaled due to the high impact crash.
Furlong says there is no indication of alcohol or drug abuse as a factor in the crash. The Carson City Sheriff’s office is currently investigating the crash.
