Immunization clinic to offer Tdap, flu vaccinations

RENO, Nev. (KRNV & -- Immunize Nevada, Washoe County Health District and Washoe County School District are partnering to offer students Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis vaccine) and annual flu vaccinations this May.

Clinics will be held at area schools through May 16 on a first-come, first-serve basis. The clinics target students who will enter 7th grade next fall, but are also open to anyone due for a Tdap booster or flu vaccine. Fees may apply.

Insurance will be billed without a co-pay for those with qualifying insurance including Medicaid and Nevada Check-up. Those without insurance or who are underinsured and qualify for the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program are asked to pay $20, however no one will be turned away due to inability to pay.

Parents can check for their children’s immunization records by contacting their current health care provider, visiting or calling Nevada WebIZ at 775-684-5954 or 877-689-3249 (Toll-free within NV only).

Traner Middle School, 1700 Carville Drive, Reno
Tuesday, May 7
2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Shaw Middle School, 600 Eagle Canyon Drive, Sparks
Thursday, May 9
2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Huffaker Elementary, 980 Wheatland Road, Reno
Tuesday, May 14
2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Dilworth Middle School, 255 Prater Way, Sparks
Thursday, May 16
3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
