FERNLEY, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Lyon County Sheriff’s deputies arrived on the scene of a shooting in Fernley early Friday morning after suspicious circumstances were reported.
When deputies arrived at 584 Village Drive at around 2:02 a.m., they made contact with a female witness who told them that her boyfriend, Spencer Brown, had shot a male acquaintance in their apartment during an argument. It was reported that the victim had fled the scene and Brown had barricaded himself in the couple’s apartment.
A short time later, Brown exited their apartment and surrendered to law enforcement without incident. The victim was later located at a relative’s residence in Fernley with a laceration to the top of his head caused by the bullet that had struck him. The victim received some treatment by medics and was later transported by a relative to an emergency center in Reno with a non-life threatening injury.
At this time Brown is currently in custody in the Lyon County Jail for attempted murder, with additional charges to follow.
