ELKO, Nev. (AP & MyNews4.com, KRNV) — Elko police have captured a teenager accused of stealing guns in a home burglary after escaping from the Nevada Youth Training Center.

After a day-long manhunt, Elko Police Chief Ben Reed says officers spotted the suspect near the Red Lion Casino late Wednesday night, a day after he escaped.

Police say he ditched a backpack during the chase, and officials discovered two guns stolen from an Elko residence Wednesday morning. The perpetrator has been booked on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen firearms, resisting arrest and being a runaway juvenile.
