RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- KNPB Channel 5 Public Broadcasting, the regions local PBS Member Station, launched the PBS KIDS GO! Writers Contest, a contest that encourages children grades K-3 to celebrate the power of creating stories and illustrations by submitting their own original work.
Children in the Reno/Carson City area can write and illustrate stories and submit them to KNPB, which will select winners and award prizes during a special reception at the KNPB studios. The winning entries will be entered into the national level of the Contest where a panel of judges will select the winners. Children have until March 28, 2013 to submit their stories.
All students who participate will be recognized. The top three stories in each grade will have their stories displayed at the Reno Tahoe International Airport and will also record their stories at the KNPB studio. The recordings will appear on air and on the KNPB website. The winning stories will also go on to compete at the national level.
