LAKE TAHOE, Calif. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- According to a voice recording on the Agate Bay Water Company phone line, the water provided in Agate Bay (located between Kings Beach and Dollar Point on the North Shore) is contaminated with E. Coli.

All residents are under a boil water order.

E. Coli bacteria was found in a water sample collected on Dec. 13.

The boil water order will be in place until the California Department of Public Health determines that there’s no threat of contamination. They are hoping to lift the order by Saturday.

most wildland water is infected with giardia (beaver fever). Implying that treating water somehow results in contamination is backward. the infiltration of human or animal wastes is the cause of E. coli contamination; thus a plumbing error or other operational problems could be to blame. Kneejerk4 just posts up "lake Tahoe" to get a reaction from attention-deficit viewers...the headline itself is oxymoronic.

It's not Lake Tahoe water. It is spring water that is required to be treated. Never had a problem before is was required to be treated.

I mean, one assumes that the potable water(that means drinkable, dear readers) is somehow Treated and Piped. Not that somehow lake water just flows out of a tap. This is an affluent area, not accepting of effluent. Hey 4, U need to do some real reporting and "Fact Checking".

Is this report accurate? Does this water provider use Lake Tahoe water, or another source? Generalizing that "Lake Tahoe water" IS (grammar check) 'contaminated' is irresponsible. How about a "Fact Checker"? an 'editor'? better writers- hmmm?
