Landslides cause road closures on I-80W near state line

UPDATE 11:00pm: One lane has re-opened in each direction. It is not clear when all lanes will re-open.


UPDATE - 6:06PM - According to Cal-Trans, one eastbound lane on I-80 is open. All eastbound lanes should be open within an hour. CHP is escorting traffic. All westbound lanes are still closed, and should be open within two hours.

RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- All eastbound and westbound lanes of Interstate 80 in the Sierra Nevada are blocked due to landslides, according to California Highway Patrol. The mudslide started on Interstate 80 westbound near Farad. The interstate is closed about five miles around the area. 

The roads will be closed for at least three hours. Cars are currently being turned around.

There are currently no injuries, but one car did hit a rock.
