LITCHFIELD, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Lassen County Sheriff's Office is looking for answers after a dog owner reported their dog had been shot, killed and possibly skinned.

This was reported October 15 on Belfast Road in the town of Litchfield. Deputies say the dog's skin from its sides and back had been removed, likely with a knife. One other dog belonging to the dog owner has died recently under suspicious circumstances, deputies say.

A dog belonging to another resident nearby is missing. Deputies say there might have been an older model Buick or Oldsmobile in the area of Center and Belfast Road around the time the dog was said to have been shot.

If you have any information, call Lassen County Sheriff's Office at 530-257-6121.
