RENO, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- The latest blast of winter weather is not only helping fill our lakes and rivers, but it is also helping our local economy.

Ski and snowboard shops like Bobo's Mogul Mouse have been feeling the effects of the lack of snow. But with more than three feet of snow falling at some resorts this past week and even more on the way, sales and morale are up.

"Winter just started it seems, even though it's towards the end, it has been a real blessing," said Bobo's Mogul Mouse Assistant Manager Paul Alvarez. "That will help us out tremendously with rentals and things of that nature, also."

Alvarez said now is the best time of year to stock up on gear. Bobo's, as well as many other local shops, are offering steep discounts on ski's and snowboards as the season comes to a close.
