CARSON CITY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The Carson City District Attorney's Office is asking people to step forward who may have been scammed out of thousands of dollars in legal services.
District Attorney Neil Rombardo tells News 4 after receiving multiple complaints about a local man who is not a lawyer charging for legal representation, the D.A. has launched a full investigation into his legal council.
Rombardo says the man targets people in the Hispanic community, often undocumented immigrants, who are fearful of contacting authorities.
Rombardo tells News 4 those who come forward with allegations of of being fraud victims will not be prosecuted for being in the country illegally.
