RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The Lear Theater is set to host its first performance in more than two decades. It has stood empty since 2002.

TEDxReno will hold a series of inspirational talks to be featured on the internet, centered around the theme "Biggest Little Citizen." The one-day event will be on June 6.

Before the series, the Lear Theater is in need of lots of repairs. "There is a lot of work that needs to be done to this place to really get it to the point where we can hold the event," said TedxReno Co-founder and Organizer Geoff Deal said. "Then the big thing is that we're looking for sponsors, as well."

The intent is to gain community support to bring the building back to life for good. After that, no more events are planned. Event speakers, volunteers and sponsors are being sought.
