TAHOE NATIONAL FOREST, Calif. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- This afternoon thunderstorms and associated lightning have produced several small fires so far.

There are two fires north of French Meadows Reservoir (east of Foresthill); one near Old Man Mountain (north of Interstate 80 at Big Bend); one east of Jackson Meadows Reservoir (central part of the TNF) and one near the Cedars, (roughly 5 miles south of Norden). Additional fires are expected to pop up this evening. Fire crews are headed to these fires as their location is confirmed. All are less than an acre and in remote locations.

Some light and spotty precipitation was also received. Expectation is for continued isolated thunderstorms tonight and into this week on both the east and west sides of the Sierra crest. Some dry strikes are possible along with gusty winds.
