RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Inc. Magazine has named it for the fourth time, one of the nations top 500 fastest growing private companies.

"The end goal is to take over the world," Jimmy Beans Wool Co-Founder Laura Zander says with a smile.

Jimmy Beans Wool is a Reno-based online wool and yarn store.

They ship all over the world and pump out anywhere between 300 and 500 orders daily from their Reno 20,000 sq. ft. warehouse.

"It's like being a personal shopper for the knitters of the world," one Jimmy Beans Wool employee says.

Jimmy Beans is growing at a rapid fire pace they now employ about 45 people and rake in annual revenue of more than $7 million dollars.

"We're the official yarn supplier to the U.S. snowboard team and the U.S. free ski team and no one's ever done that," Zander says.

So how does a company that sells yarn and wool,  become so successful? We went straight to Jimmy Bean herself. Jimmy Bean is Zander. It's nickname she says stuck after she met her husband. Zander says they live and breathe their brand and that's it's all about marketing, but not just any kind of marketing, she says it's all about innovative marketing

They've found ways to reach out to their customers.

"By creating a campaign that gets people talking," Zander says.

One example, they've created ever knitter's dream.

Everyone is invited to come to their Reno location and jump in their hot tub full of hundreds of balls of yarn in here.

This is a part of what Zander calls their buzz campaign. People come from all over the world to come sit in here and take a picture with the yarn.

From there Zander says it goes viral and the buzz about their product begins.

But at the end of the day she says it sells itself.

"I mean it's yarn, people get to knit and they get to touch the stuff that they love," Zander says.

Zander was this month's speaker at the Reno-Tahoe Chapter of the American Marketing Association luncheon at the Atlantis Hotel and Casino.
