RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- They're the Note-ables - musicians of all ages with disabilities - and Saturday they're bringing an evening of romance to Reno.

"The mission of the Note-ables is that creativity knows no bounds and we really believe that everybody should have the opportunity to perform," said Sara Rosenow, a music therapist.

Rosenow says Note-ables puts people with disabilities in tune with music.

"We provide individual music therapy sessions," Rosenow said. "We also do piano lessons, violin lessons, voice lessons and guitar."

Saturday night the students will show their stuff at the 9th Annual Evening of Romance concert, along with the Reno Jazz Orchestra.

"We're playing Broadway songs primarily," said Chuck Reider, the orchestra's musical director.  "This is a Broadway-themed show."

Reider says music can be magical.  SAYS MUSIC CAN BE MAGICAL.

"The brain processes music in so many different ways and it really stimulates everybody's brain," Reider said.

Rosenow gets to watch the music work its magic.

"I see every person every week," Rosenow said. "Over the course of year,s I get to see that growth and all those changes and I get to see them grow as people."

Tonight the community will get to see it. The annual fundraiser will also feature a silent auction and raffle, but Rosenow says it's about more than money.

"These kinds of things give everybody the chance to express themselves, and that's a big part of what we do," Rosenow said.

The event starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are still available for $50 at the door at the grand ballroom of The Atlantis.

The price includes hors d'oeuvres, desserts and champagne, and you may see some a familiar face - News 4's very own Brooke Boone will be emceeing the event.
