RENO, Nev. (KRNV & Mynews4.com) -- The Academy of Arts, Careers & Technology (AACT), part of WCSD, celebrates the certification of its Culinary Program by the American Culinary Federation, Inc. today in Reno.

AACT is the first school in Nevada -- and one of only 12 in the entire Western US -- to receive this educational recognition.  Students who graduate this June and pass ACF testing will receive a Certificate of National Accreditation as a ACF Junior Culinarian, allowing them to practice culinary arts professionally.

The school was recognized in a ceremony attended by officials including Reno Mayor Bob Cashell and Sparks Mayor Geno Martini today and attenders enjoyed a luncheon served by the students.
