SIERRA COUNTY, Calif. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A logging truck rolled over around 2:15pm today in Sierra County.

Sierra County Sheriff’s Office says a logging truck rolled over on SR-49 about 12 miles south of the Town of Goodyears Bar in southwestern Sierra County. It was at the sharp curve locally referred to as “Lager Beer Point” in reference to a beer delivery truck which went over the side there many years ago.

The driver of the truck said that he was driving southbound with a full load of fresh cut lumber trees when the load shifted as he rounded the curve, causing the truck to catch on its side on the guardrail stopping it from going all the way over.

Deputies say the driver might have sustained a minor injury to his ankle. The incident is being investigated by the Grass Valley area office of the California Highway Patrol.
