RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Officials with a California based UAV company are moving corporate headquarters to Reno.

Ashima Devices specializes in the first responder industry and officials hope to build a manufacturing facility at the Reno Stead Airport soon.

The news was made public at a Tuesday press conference at Reno Stead Airport, where company officials could create up to 400 jobs in the next year.

Ashima UAVs can be used to scan structures, buildings or open areas to make sure it is safe for humans to enter.

Company officials will work alongside the University of Nevada to create programs that will help students prepare for careers in the drone field.
