RENO, Nev. (AP) — A bowling tournament expected to draw more than 52,000 bowlers to Reno over its 125-day run is under way.
The 2013 United States Bowling Congress Open Championships began Friday at the National Bowling Stadium.
The Reno Gazette-Journal reports more than 10,500 teams will take to the lanes through July.
Bowlers will compete for $4.5 million to $7.5 million in estimated prize money.
Bowlers will compete in three events — team, doubles and singles.
