RENO, Nev. (KRNV & Mynews4.com) -The Washoe County District Attorney's Office announced today that 28 year-old Chadwick Majamay pled guilty today to one count of possessing child pornography and one count of possessing personal identification of another.
Both charges are felonies and Honorable Judge Janet Berry accepted Majamay's plea, according to a press release from the Washoe County District Attorney's Office.
In May of 2012, Sparks Police Department discovered 18 printed images of children depicted in sexual conduct in Majamay’s backpack. They also found personal identifying information of other persons including credit card account numbers, bank account information and pin numbers, according to the release.
Majamay is a convicted sex offender having been previously convicted in Washoe County of the same Child Pornography offense in 2008. He was sentenced to prison in that case but had paroled prior to the instant offense.
“Because this is Majamay’s second offense for Child Pornography he may be sentenced up to life in prison. The State fully intends
on seeking a life sentence for this defendant,” said Deputy District Attorney Chris Hicks.
