SPARKS, Nev. (KRNV & -- A man has been arrested after child abuse that led to his five-month-old son's death.

Sparks Police say on Mar. 21 at around 8:15pm, officers responded to the report of an infant not breathing at an apartment in the complex of 1877 El Rancho Blvd in Sparks.

Officers then found a five-month-old infant unresponsive but with no obvious signs of trauma. Life saving efforts had already been initiated by family members and were continued when rescue personnel arrived. The infant was transported to Renown Medical Center for treatment.

Police say the infant's father, Roberto Diaz-Tenorio, had been caring for his son when his son suddenly lapsed into unconsciousness after he had changed his son's diaper. Diaz-Tenorio's wife and mother of the child was not at home when the child became unconscious, but returned to the apartment and called 911.

At the hospital, the infant was found to have several internal injuries consistent with child abuse. The infant had significant brain hemorrhaging and fractures of the ribs.

Multiple interviews were completed including the victim's father Roberto Diaz-Tenorio. Police arrested Diaz-Tenorio for Child Abuse Causing Substantial Body Harm.

On March 22, 2013 Diaz-Tenorio was booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility.

The infant's condition continued to deteriorate and on March 23, 2013 the infant was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The continuing investigation indicates Roberto Diaz-Tenorio inflicted the injury that caused the death of his son. Roberto Diaz-Tenorio is still in custody at the Washoe County Detection Facility. His charge is being amended to Open Murder.

The Sparks P.D.doesn't believe in child abuse until a child is killed! I know of a Sparks officer who refused to make a police report when a large father picked up his small daughter by the throat, threw her up against a door until she had to kick him off. The officer, in his wisdom, deemed that abusive behavior was DISCIPLINE!!!! That's what the officer told the little girl and then released her to her abuser! In front of witnesses! Are you kidding me Sparks P.D.? These kids have to die before you'll do your job? How many other cases go unreported?

DOn't believe everything you see on the news, they are trying to create sensationlization. They key words her, " the police state. . ." This is not a blanket statement about every police officer, just a statement about humans. Where is the tangible evidence?

Looks like Satan. Imagine two horns and a tail that whips around... Pure evil. Must have beaten the kid long enough ago that the signs of abuse and bruises healed, except the unseen broken ribs and head traumas.
