Man arrested for bank robbery in Douglas County

UPDATE: 4:45PM - Douglas County Sheriffs identified the suspect as Jarell Ryan Williams, age 26, who has resided in Gardnerville, NV and Ventura, CA. He has been charged with Armed Bank Robbery, Bomb Threat and Making threats or conveying false information concerning acts of terrorism, weapons of mass destruction, lethal agent or toxin. His bail is set at $125,000.00.

Sheriffs say Williams had an unknown device duct taped to himself. Williams left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene in a white vehicle. The money taken from the bank has been recovered. The item duct taped to his chest was found to be a simulated explosive device.

The FBI has been contacted and is assisting with this investigation, which is ongoing.

No one was injured during this incident.





DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Around 1pm today, Douglas County Sheriff's Office reported to a robbery at Bank of America at 947 Topsy Lane.

Douglas County Sheriffs say it was reported that a male had entered the bank and produced a note demanding money. The male left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The male was found shortly thereafter and taken into custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
