RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A man was arrested for first degree arson after he took a box of memorabilia and set it on fire.
Reno Police investigated the incident around 1:00pm at 6420 Lotus St. Before the police got there, they say 20-year-old Kelvin Lytle set fire to a box of memorabilia and placed it on the porch. The victim was able to extinguish the fire with a garden hose.
The inside of the residence caught on fire and smoke began to billow out. It is unknown at this time if the residence catching fire was a result of the initial arson or a secondary ignition. The adjacent residence was evacuated. Lytle was detained outside the residence without incident. No one was injured as a result of the fire.
Reno Fire Fighters responded and extinguished the interior fire. Their Arson Investigator responded to perform a parallel investigation.
