RENO, Nev. (AP) — A man has pleaded guilty to killing his estranged wife's son and grandmother in Sparks.
Justin Ouimet pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree murder, one count of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of first-degree arson in the September 2010 slayings.
KTVN-TV reports he awaits sentencing Feb. 22 after entering the pleas Monday in Washoe County District Court.
Police say the 25-year-old Ouimet told investigators he was filled with rage about his pending divorce and went to his estranged wife's home determined to murder whoever was there.
He stabbed his wife's 2-year-old son, Connor Lawrence, and 62-year-old grandmother, Lana Stone, then started a small fire inside the house and left. Crews quickly put out the blaze.
His wife was at work at the time.
