TRUCKEE, Calif. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Reno man Donald Broyles, 76, is in the hospital with major injuries after he lost control of vehicle and going through a guardrail, according to California Highway Patrol.

CHP says Broyles was traveling westbound on Interstate 80, west of Hirschdale Road, before losing control of his Ford. Broyles corrected the steering of his car to right and crossed both lanes, resulting in hitting the steel guardrail on the north portion of the road. The Ford went through the guard rail and off the road before turning over and down an embankment.

CHP is still investigating. Alcohol and drugs are not factors.

Seems like there's two kinds of drivers-Survivors and Statistics. Hope the driver recovers fully.

Ouch! man, Reno drivers sometimes lose it in the mountains. Recall the guy who saw the Hirschdale exit sign, and went for it (prematurely), plunging off the overpass. Young guy, not too experienced and unfortunately demised.
