Maple, Center streets reopen after crash

UPDATE - 12:59PM - Reno Police say all roads are back open now. 

Witnesses say a Dodge Durango hit a Ford Expedition. The Expedition was then thrown to the side of the road. The Expedition turned over on its side. The male driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital and is expected to be okay. The female driver of the Durango was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

A dog was in the Expedition and died at the scene.








UPDATE - 11:46AM - According to Reno Police, an SUV was heading northbound on Center Street attempting to get onto I-80 when it hit another vehicle that had a green right-of-way light.

The male driver of the SUV was conscious and breathing, but was trapped when the vehicle turned onto its side and fire crews had to get him out. Police say both the male driver of the SUV and the female driver of the other vehicle were transported with minor injuries to the hospital.

It's expected that Maple and Center Streets will open in about an hour or so.

RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Reno Police say Center Street from 7th to 8th Street are closed as is Maple Street from Virginia Street to Center Street due to a crash.

One man has been transported to the hospital due to the crash.

I'm sorry to hear the dog was killed in the wreck. The Durango driver should be charged with animal abuse,along with any other violations. (Vehicular Stupidity.)

ever notice the oxymoronic "Yield" sign on Villanova off-ramp? guess no one who can read will...This intersection already has lights and a designated Rturn lane. Meant to deter only higher-speed redlightrunners, no?
