RENO, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- Many will enter, few will win. In fact there can only be one mayor, but that has not stopped 18 candidates from filing for the position with the City of Reno.

On Monday, 15 candidates participated in the first public debate.

Temple Sinai hosted the debate, which was orginally scheduled for two hours. But it would have taken about that long to introduce all the candidates. Everyone was given equal time, and Moderator Anjeanette Damon made sure of it.

The organizer of Monday's debate could not be happier with the turnout, even though it presented some challenges. "When Mr. Lorton was successful with his challenge, we knew the field would be quite large," said Former Temple Sinai President . "To be able to get all of the candidates here in one place so the community could hear them, we're just really excited about it and the fact that we're the first even makes it better."

If you missed the debate, do not panic. There's another debate on Tuesday. It will take place in Room 100 of the Jot Travis Building on the UNR campus at 6:30 p.m.

If you would like to get to know the candidates one-by-one, then stay tuned to News 4 at 4. Our Mayoral Candidate Interview series continues this week with four candidates: Chad Dehne, Ian Pasalich, Ken Stark and Delores Aiazzi.
