RENO, Nev. (AP) — The McQueen High School Marching Band will represent Nevada in the 2014 Tournament of Roses Parade in Southern California.

School district officials say Pasadena Tournament of Roses President R. Scott Jenkins will extend the official invitation to the 125th Tournament of Roses Parade during a ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the McQueen football field in northwest Reno.

In addition to marching the 5.5 mile parade route on New Year's Day, the band also will perform at three Bandfest events at Pasadena City College on Dec. 29-30.

Band members will be required to raise all the money necessary for travel and accommodations.
