RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- According to Scott Magruder with Nevada Department of Transportation, the date for the Meadowood interchange freeway portion opening has been pushed from middle of April to end of May.
Magruder says they are at 560 working days out of 460 working days that were originally agreed upon, which carries a penalty of $5,300 per day, and they are already in excess of $500,000 of penalties due to the delays.
NDOT was originally told by the project contractor (Meadow Valley Contractors) that the freeway was going to be finished by Apr. 1. They are now currently six months behind schedule.
