Reno, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The winners of the 2013 IT Makeover Campaign were awarded today (May 17th). Recipient Pam Russell of the Women and Children's Center of the Sierra gave News 4 a look into the out-of-date facilities they must endure everyday.
Microsoft Licensing and IQ Technology Solutions gave a combined donation of $20,000 to local non-profits to re-vamp their tech equipment, and to ultimately, share the wealth of technology knowledge through out the community.
This years award recipients include: The Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation, Northern Nevada Literacy Council, and lastly, the Women & Children's Center of the Sierra who took us through their pre-makeover facilities.
Until the new equipment is installed in the WACCS building, Pam Russell, their Executive Director just keeps her fingers crossed as she presses the "on" buttons every morning. However, through the obstacles, her and the WACCS staff maintain a positive attitude.
WACCS and the other winning organizations look forward to their IT Makeovers, and are grateful for the generosity of Microsoft and IQ Technology.
The makeovers will take place towards the end of June (2013), and they would greatly appreciate any further donations from members of our community.
