MINDEN, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The East Fork Fire and Paramedic District responded to a garage fire in the 800 block of Granite Court in the Indian Hills Sub-division early Friday morning only to encounter rather uncommon circumstances.
While responders fought the fire, the occupant of the property -- Blake Lister -- was arrested for interfering with the firefighters. After being told to stay away from firefighters working the blaze, Lister ran back into the burning building and locked himself inside, claiming he was a BLM firefighter. Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies entered the building and told Lister to exit the building. When Lister refused, he was arrested and booked into the Douglas County Jail for interfering with extinguishing a fire and obstructing/resisting a police officer. Lister’s bail was set at $1280.
The structure is a separate garage building that was not attached to the home. The source of the fire is unknown at this time and is currently being investigated by fire inspectors of the East Fork Fire and Paramedic District.
