RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The woman who was nicknamed "The Miracle Girl" by the northern Nevada community in the 1980's because of her will to live has passed away.
Lisa Worobey, 45, died January 10th. Lisa became a well known name in 1986 when as a 17-year-old student at Wooster High School. She astounded doctors by surviving a surgery to deal with a degenerating brain stem, and complications of hydrocephalus. She was in a coma, and when she woke up, could only move her eyes.
Given just weeks to live, Lisa battled back, and earned the local title "Miracle Girl" through the media.
