TRUCKEE, Calif. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Chesley B. “Sully” Sullenberger, III, known by most as the Captain who saved 150 lives during what has been dubbed the “Miracle on the Hudson" will address the crowd during the Truckee Tahoe AirFair & Family Festival.

Sullenberger III was the pilot in command of US Airways Flight 1549 from LaGuardia Airport in New York City to Charlotte/Douglas International Airport, in Charlotte, North Carolina, and onward to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in SeaTac, Washington. On January 15, 2009, the plane hit a flock of Canadian Geese during its initial climb out, lost engine power, and ditched in the Hudson River off midtown Manhattan, saving everyone onboard. Capt. Sully is also the Co-Chairman for the National Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA).

He will address the crowd at Truckee Tahoe Airport (10356 Airport Rd., Truckee, CA) during Opening Ceremonies (11a.m. Saturday, July 6). After, he will sign autographs and copies of his book, Highest Duty, in the Airport's EAA Building.
