NEVADA COUNTY, Calif. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) – Nevada County officials say a man and his son were separated due to whiteout conditions and the son has not returned.

Rescue crews searched through the night in Sierra back country near Boreal Mountain Resort and are still searching in rotating shifts, said Captain Jeff Pettitt. According to KCRA Sacramento the son is 26-year-old Abraham Finkelstein.

Finkelstein reportedly went missing Monday. Four teams on skies and snowshoes searched through the night in the area around Castle Peak, along the north side of Interstate 80, across from Boreal.

According to Finkelstein's father, the two men were in the area on Monday and separated after he became tired and wanted to turn back. Finkelstein reportedly stayed behind to make one more run before returning to the car.

please apply 'white-out' to the extra "e" in skies (sic). those are skis. Castle Peak is a backcountry area so it wouldn't be "one more run". The conditions should improve and seems likely he will be found or hike out.
